Content Strategy Tips for Niche Industries

We recently analyzed one of our PI Lawyer clients that was declining in traffic. We mainly looked for pages with declines over the last 28 days, due to Google’s most recent algorithm updates. To be accurate, we started conducting a search for their top 2–3 keywords and took some screenshots to provide us with a “before” picture of the situation.

During our analysis phase, we noticed that most customer stories on their website are from 2017 or 2018. We, then, decided to start adding a new case study to the page or updating old stories on the page to see what happens. The updated (or new) content had several details, including their top keywords. Once the edits were complete, we updated the publishing date and waited for the results. And they were impressive.

In a very short period, these pages ranked first for all 3 keywords. To be sure, we applied the same strategy to other clients’ websites and the results were consistent. Moreover, not only did these websites rank higher, but they also saw a significant increase in traffic.
