I often hear people in the Local SEO industry complain about Google My Business (GMB) phone support. I would sit there dreading the calls before I made them, knowing that I’d have to repeat myself several times, wait on hold, and possibly argue when given wrong information.
I have good news.
I haven’t used phone support in several weeks. Instead, I’m tweeting to @GoogleSmallBiz. Their response time is amazing (email to GMB now says to expect a 1-2 week delay) and the best part is you get to talk to a person in the USA.
If you haven’t tried it yet, I strongly recommend it. You’ll be breathing sighs of relief after you do.

Finally, a guarantee I will communicate with a fluent English speaker. On the phone support, I have had success with the GMB India, but like you said it takes repeating what you need and lot of persistence.

I sent a message through their Twitter account. Would it be better to actually send a tweet?
Hey Mary,
If it’s your first time, I’d probably tweet to them and wait for them to reply before direct messaging.
You won’t be able to direct message them as they won’t be following you. You can only DM Twitter accounts that follow you. You should send a tweet with their Twitter handle mentioned.
They can receive direct messages from anyone because they have this Twitter feature enabled: https://blog.twitter.com/marketing/en_us/a/2016/announcing-new-customer-support-features-for-businesses.html
Thanks for pointing that out, Joy. I didn’t realize this was now possible.
