Sterling Sky Acquires LocalU, Continues Building Local SEO All-Star Team

I’m extremely excited to officially announce that Sterling Sky has acquired LocalU.  It was founded in 2009 by several well-known experts in the Local Search world and our goal is to continue to make it grow & thrive while keeping a high standard of quality and expertise.

With the acquisition, we’re happy to be keeping Mike Blumenthal on as the leader of the podcast and weekly videos.  Mike has been a leader in the Local Search space, presents nationally at search conferences, and is the co-founder of GatherUp.  He is also a Google My Business Gold Product Expert.  

We’ll also have Mary Bowling joining our team in January to help out with the LocalU events and planning.  Mary has been involved in SEO since 2003 and has written intensive training on Local Search for several publications including Search Engine News, Search Engine Strategies, and the Denver Chamber of Commerce.

And that’s not all.

We’re adding 2 other all-stars to the SEO team at Sterling Sky in January. 

First, Carrie Hill will be joining us full-time.  Carrie has been in this industry as long as I have and has a very diverse skillset pertaining to Local Search and SEO.  She was recently included as one of the top SEO experts to follow in 2019 by Search Engine Journal.  She was also in the top 5 for SerpStat’s Best Women in SEO list.  

Last, but definitely not least, Jason Brown will be joining our team full-time.  Jason is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about all things pertaining to Google My Business and online reviews.  He has appeared in many news publications and was recently interviewed on the Today Show and NBC News.  Jason, along with myself, Yan, Colan, and Mike is also one of the few Gold-level Google My Business Product Experts.
